What it really means

A normal question to ask the driver as you board. Drivers are used to it and will usually tell you the fare too, or tell you which bus to take instead. Asking is much better than getting on the wrong bus.

Chinese explanation

上车时问司机的常用句。司机们习惯被问，通常还会顺便告诉你票价，或告诉你该坐哪路车。问一句总比坐错车强。

A: Hi, does this bus go to the university? B: It does, love. Hop on, it is about fifteen minutes.
