Bin day

BIN-day
Informal Neutral

What it really means

The weekly or fortnightly day when the council collects your rubbish and recycling. Each colour bin (general waste, recycling, food, garden) may go out on different days. Put bins out the night before and bring them in after — neighbours notice if you do not.

Example conversation

A: Which bin goes out tonight? B: Blue recycling this week — check the council’s website for the calendar.

What you could say back
