NHS App

Neutral Neutral

What it really means

The official NHS phone app for England. Once registered with a GP you can use it to order repeat prescriptions, see test results and book some appointments.

Chinese explanation
NHS官方手机应用(英格兰)。注册GP后可用它续配处方药、查看化验结果、预约部分门诊。

Context, tips & common mistakes

The NHS App becomes useful only after you have registered with a GP surgery, so do that first; then verify your identity in the app and it connects to your record. From there you can order repeat prescriptions, see test results and vaccination history, read letters, and at many surgeries book or manage appointments — often the fastest route past the 8am phone queue.

Download the official free app (NHS App, from NHS England) rather than lookalikes, and note it is different from the separate NHS 111 online service for urgent symptoms. If a feature seems missing — booking, say — that is usually a setting your individual surgery controls, worth asking reception to enable rather than assuming the app cannot do it.

Example conversation

A: Do I have to phone the surgery for my repeat prescription? B: No, you can order it in the NHS App — it\'s much easier.
A:续处方必须打电话给诊所吗? B:不用,在NHS App里就能下单,方便多了。

What you could say back

“I'll download it now.”
